Something recently came up that will require me to be out of town when the newspaper challenge ends, and my photo is doing well enough that it has good shot of being in the top 10. I did not know that I would be gone when I originally entered the challenge. My question is- is there a way to submit my photo for validation before I leave? This way my photo wouldn't get DQ'd. I emailed the SC two days ago but haven't heard anything back so I thought I'd check in with anyone else.

Why don't you email your original to 2-3 SC members with listed emails, and we can hold it in case it's needed for verification.

Include as much info in the email as you can, such as editing steps.

Since this challenge has already started voting, why not just view your entry (at the very end of the voting page, not from the "My Submissoins" box), and click "Request an admin note"?

This will allow you to upload the original directly to the "validation system", and provides you with a place to type in your reasoning for submitting, along with any editing steps.
