My new cell phone LCD shield is already scratched, and while looking into a plastic protector for that, I discovered that there are scratch removal products which claim to be able to fix minor (and even major) scratches.
The price was a bit high for a bottle to do my phone ($8-15 plus shipping), but I beginning to wonder if I could use tht to fix my Canon G2 LCD which is quite scratched up (despite the fact I normally keep the LCD closed). Also, my older Olympus 450 which my daughter owns now, and my sons Canon A60 are all scratched, per normal "use". This would be worth it if it really worked on those.
Does anyone have a product to recommend on camera LCDs?
The ones I found are:
Janvil
Liquid Lens
Novus
Thanks in advance for any advice/tips. |

I do not know for sure, but I suspect you cannot use these for a laptop. I don't think most laptop LCDs (or desktop LCDs) have a hard protective plastic cover. They have no protector at all. That's why you can apply slight pressure and see the crystals displaced (temporarily).
Cameras and phones have a hard plastic shield over the LCD which is what gets scratched.
I would not apply anything to the soft surface of an LCD that requires rubbing with any amount of pressure.
Edit: And of course, some LCDs with covers may have an antireflective surface, and I would not apply any "polishing" type compound to that either.
Regards--Neil

| Try here: iPod Display - Scratch Removal Research. One of the recommendations (toothpaste) I have tried on CDs and my pda screen, which does work a little. (Not to mention giving your item that minty fresh smell!) |

Toothpaste is also a great way to get rid of scratches on your DVDs and CDs. Fills up the scratch and voila!
