I don't think it's "dangerous" nor do I think she (or I) believe it, but you have to admit it's not "unimaginable" -- we've seen many times over the past few decades* that those who are supposed to "protect" us suffer from a woeful lack of imagination, at least compared to terrorists and Hollywood screenwriters ...

LOL Ok, you guys have fun contributing to the already nutso internet and conspiracy theories. JD Vance poisoned the Pope.
SMH
Keep smiling Margaret. You did well. Poked this thread just enough to keep it going a bit longer, until it tapers off and you post something else nutso in here to ramp it up again.

Hey, that was MY nutso idea! And I saw video of their encounter, and it would have been perfectly possible, if extraordinarily unlikely ... now if it had been one of Putin's lackeys we'd just say he'd used a tried-and-true M.O. ... |

Pope criticized Vance's version of catholicism so I thought that maybe Vance annoyed him during the meeting and that contributed to the stroke. However, I suspect that going against his doctors advice and being too active on his last day were the main reasons.
Let's hope now that we won't get a Trumpist pope! However, judging by what's happening with Canadian and Australian elections, it will hopefully not happen.
PS I am an atheist but I have respect for religions as long as they are not used as weapons.

I have to say that Barry's response shook me, do you really think that I am that stupid? |

Well, the pots well stirred and you're doing a lot, if not most, of the stirring, so... In the context of *Rant* that leaves you vulnerable to unpalatable ripostes, and you got one :-) But I assure you, NONE of us (at least in SC) think you're "stupid": you are provocative and you love poking at things to see what responses you get (witness this thread)so grin and bear it :-) |

This shook me even more - false accusations and threats, the hallmarks of Trump. |

Y'all are hilarious.
TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is a mental disorder. Just the same as DDS (Democrat Derangement Syndrome)...
"Oh no! Someone with differing views as me! How can life go on?!"
Lol.

Is Trump a messiah?
PS Sorry, I just realized that someone might take it seriously, I was only kidding.

Et tu, Brute?
This argument is invincible because it's not an argument. No claims are made, no claims are refuted. It's just insult and mockery, without even saying what or whom is being mocked. Much like Trump's word salad, the only way to argue with this is to interpret it first. And then he can make fun of your interpretation.
This is what bothers me about our current political environment. Politics should be about debating the best way to deal with real situations. Each party debates which problems are more dangerous and which solutions have the best chance of working. Instead, the right has focused on ways to deny or distract from reality and state made-up things with confidence. (They've been working on this for decades, building up entire information networks. Reality denial's first president was George W. Bush, even though he is now demonized by the new reality deniers. That's the danger of reality denial. It can turn any which way.)
Lies are not quite the same as "differing views." And if he's not talking about lies, I'm sure that even the very wry and superior Brutus could think of "differing views" that would upset him. It's hard to say, because he's not saying anything. And that's the point. That's how he wins. That's how Trump wins.

We win !!! (by "we" I mean people who are against Trump's ideas like annexation of Canada) |

The rational discourse requires engaging the brain before speaking. This is something some posters may have missed. |

I'd love to have Canada as a 51st state. We wouldn't be in the trouble we're in now! :P
Although, this was an interesting idea -- if we could only add in Virginia, as well. :)
Problem Solved! |

The reason why I don't typically debate with those who base their entire argument on how terrible someone is (or great for that matter) is because I find it very off-putting.
I find Trump to be both good and bad in certain areas. He's done some good things. And some bad things. As a normal human should be able to see. But the idea that if I asked any one of you to name something he did good, your brain would explode is a bit weird to me.
NPC characteristics if you ask me. Which is why I find it hilarious that these threads always devolve into the same thing over and over and over. "Orange man bad..." Or "Dem man bad..."

Forgot to add that it's the same for those who are pro-Trump.
I find someone stating everything he does to be the most amazing thing incredibly off-putting.
It's strange. 🤷♂️ |

His latest budget proposal is a perfect example of "reverse Robin Hoodism" -- cutting hundreds of billions from the poor to give to billionaires.
Again, the only way he could be called "christian" is that he might ask himself "What would Jesus do?" and then does the opposite ... |

Never going to happen.
Why would we want to join the US?
Education? Healthcare? Gun reform? Maternity leave? Life expectancy? Women's right to choose?
The US is terrible on all fronts. |

We win in Australia too!!! And for the first time in Australian history the leader of the opposition (conservatives) has lost his own seat!
The fascist party in Germany backed by Elon Musk has been classified as a terrorist organization (although its leader and her children live in Switzerland, I hope this will be corrected soon).
I am really, really hoping that more moderate Republicans will follow the lead and help remove fascism from America. And that the Democrats will finally wake up from the coma. Maybe this time Trump will be successfully impeached.
PS For those who think that I have no right to have these views, please understand that I have already lost 20% of my retirement savings due to Trump's policies.
PS2 Brutus, I really don't understand how you arrived at your conclusions from reading this thread. |

Yes, and the internal security budget has been boosted by 65%, more riot police I guess to stop all opposition. |
