So I have dual monitors, a keyboard, a medium Wacom tablet and I need a new desk. It's time to get more ergonomic.
I'm curious if you have a good setup and what it looks like. Right now I'm on a regular computer desk with the keyboard pull out -- but there's really not enough room on it. So I'm thinking a lower desk with risers for the monitors.
What are you using? |

My setup is basically like yours right now. Your ideas sound like a great idea. I have been searching for a new desk also but have to allow for the size limitations in my office which is basically a corner. I have a guest room that I am thinking of converting into an office which would give me more space for all my equipment and work-related documents, etc. I do have a small studio that my husband built for me but it is outside and that would be a pain to have to relocate to daily. Good luck and hope you find the perfect desk to meet your needs. |

If you're tossing out terms like lower (desk) risers (monitors), then I might suggest looking at a sit/stand desk with low profile monitor mounts..

I've got a sit stand desk with an adjustable stool from Ikea (no back keeps my posture up right).

Highly recommend a large desk mouse pad: https://www.amazon.com/KTRIO-Stitched-Superior-Micro-Weave-Non-Slip/dp/B0788LMLZL/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3UHWI5IPBSJ7C&keywords=desk+mouse+pad&qid=1702048166&s=electronics&sprefix=desk+mouse+pad%2Celectronics%2C111&sr=1-5
Laptop sits on a adjustable height stand (plenty of options around this)
Happy to delve more into the topic. I work in Tech Sales so I need the extra monitors and space + live meetings etc.

I'm in the process of re-doing my desk space... it's been a long, strange trip and not done yet. The endpoint will have me using a live-edge slab that I finished late this Summer, supported by two file cabinets, as a desk.
Because this workspace will have fairly substantial depth, I will be using a larger monitor. I will either be using a 31.5" monitor, or a 42" one. I have the 42", just need to determine if that will be *too* big. If so, I will use that as a television (which is in fact what it is, an OLED 4k TV) and buy a Lenovo T32p-20, which is what I use at work. In either case, my plan is to use the VESA mounts on the monitor and an articulating wall mount. That will eliminate any desk space taken up by the monitor.
My main machine is a laptop, and I will be using a Bluetooth keyboard (Logitech MX Keys) and mouse (Logitech MX3s), located on a pull-out tray for best ergonomics. The tray will eliminate the space used for keyboard and mouse on the desktop.
I don't at this point use a Wacom or similar tablet (I did in the past when I had more need for spot editing than I do today). If I did, I think I would just locate it on the desktop, using some of the space saved from relocating the keyboard/mouse. The downside of that is, if you are using the tablet a lot, that position may not be so ergonomic. If you decide to go with a lower desk top height, that may preclude using a keyboard tray, and thus you again have a space issue on the desktop. So there is no one "clean" solution, but the one thing that will help, possibly substantially, is to wall-mount the monitor(s). My wife works from home, and she has (count 'em) three monitors, all wall mounted.

I saw the sit stand desks. They are intriguing, but really quite pricey. I̢۪ve never tried one before, I̢۪m not sure how much standing time I would do. I know my brother-in-law had a standing desk and went back to a regular one. |

My chiropractor also recommends a desk at which you can stand at least part of the time..
If you have the keyboard and monitor(s) at the right height they are really pretty comfortable to use and definitely healthier -- they even save money in the long run if they keep you from developing carpal tunnel syndrome, spinal problems, or blood clots in your legs.... |
