Just wanted to tip my hat to those (you know how you are) for your stunning images in this challenge.
I thought mine was good (and still do), but many in this challenge are superb!
I am in awe!

I'm in there with you: this is my first challenge in which I scored this high! I gave away 4 10'ers and 12 9'ers!!!!! (12!!) The lowest score I gave was a 4 and I gave that away twice... The rest is all in between.. I think there are some really awesome photos in the challenge this time..I'm really jealous of the sharp and deep contrast pictures..I'm trying to figure out how they managed to desaturate their subjects (or backgrounds!!)..certainly not the way I did it!
Congratulations you all with those awesome images!!

In light of another thread, this deserves a bump.
Maybe what really made this challenge jump was the tone & quality of the B & W portions of some of the entries!

That is exactly right. I am hoping we get some turorials, or at least tips, from some of these folks. Glad to see someone else is enjoying these entries as much as I am!

I am a particular fan of B&W shots and this challenge has been very nice to view. Sometimes that pop of color just adds that extra spark to a photo. Though I'm pleased with my entry, I wish I would've been a little more orginal with my subject matter. After viewing some of these, I'm hitting myself with the old,"Why didn't I think of that?" stick. Nice job folks! :)

Agreed, this was one of the most enjoyable challenges I have voted on.
Gave 7 9's and 18 8's - and that is very high voting from me considering how mean I am with my votes - my average vote is 5.0833
It's been a pleasure to vote on this one! Thanks
Mike

I hope this will open the doors to more people using good de-sat in future challenges. From what I read on the fourms, it hasn't been looked upon well in the past. But hopefully not overdone, of course!

I'm really enjoying looking at all the desat images in the challenge, am trying to vote on them all....but with dialup this takes time. They're impressive and am learning from each of them as I go.
I'm still relatively new here and when I first saw the challenge I went OMG!! With all the helpful tutorials went back to ps and starting playing with images and ideas. Just had my first comment on my entry :D (I do a happy dance when I get comments cos they're what I learn most from),and......I still like what I achieved. Score sitting just over 5.0 - very pleased with!! :D

Hi Sue,
THAT is what this place is all about:
Enjoying photography, honing your skills and learning.
Shoot 30-40 pics a day and get creative. Try and mimic shots you have seen here. We ALL can get better at it, the pros included.

I like the technique..so it`s been a pleasure to vote on all the images..commented on more than I normally would as well. This challenge will have boosted my "Average vote cast" considerably. |

Me, too. I voted higher on this one than any I can remember. It could have turned out very poor, but people really worked hard and really stretched themselves creatively. Very little duplication, too.

I could not agree more.
I have enjoyed voting on this challenge, left more comments, given higher scores than possibly any challenge I've voted on before (I do miss the odd one).
I am probably 75% through voting and I have yet to see a really bad shot, which realistically most challenges usually have one or two of.
Absolutely sensational work there people :)

Well done everybody. I think we have all done well considering most of us didn't even know how it was done prior to the challenge.
