I looked at this camera a little bit while shopping around. From my research it's a real nice camera for the price. You'll be hard pressed to find a better camera for $250.
I'd guess it's so cheap because the newer Z2 was priced to compete with the Olympus C-750 in the $380-$400 range which drove the price of the Z1 down. |

		| I have one. I like it alot. The 10x zoom gives it good reach and the image quality is pretty good. I think it's so cheap b/c it's only 3.2 MP and the Z2 is out. It has a real nice macro mode. The things I don't like are the viewfinder, the purple fringing which can be pretty bad. |

		| IN high contrast shots, when the aperture is large you might get a purple halo. CHeck out dcresource.com. Additionally it's a real fast camera in start up time and shutter lag. |

I would try to find some full-frame sample images of low light shots. I previously owned a Minolta Dimage 7 and, in retrospect, consider that purchase a mistake. The images from that camera were very noisy, with some banding of the noise in the blue channel.

There are quite a few shots in my profile that were taken with my Z1, before I upgraded. Low-light shots were a pain, mostly because of the manual focus, IMO.

For the price, it is a decent camera.
