I was photographing a cormorant flying, and I thought he was being bothered by a small bird. But He was tangled up in fishing line and flying with a lead weight attached to him. I was hoping to edit this to use for conservation purposes. The fishing line itself can kind of be seen, but I had hoped to bring it out a bit more but everything I tried isn't working.
Can you edit this so that you can see the detail in the lead weight along with the fishing line?
I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

I cannot make it to any decent quality but I can see clearly the hook on the wing and the bits of the fishing line with the weight. |

That's actually impressive. I blew it up and did not have the detail or see any line, so I made one up lol. Just did a 1 and at 29% white |

It might not be the world's prettiest edit, but it is certainly impressive, and so clearly shows what Wendy needs it to show!

Thanks! I hadn’t seen the hook, so that was helpful. I couldn’t get the line clearer, but I got it to this point

Maybe try darkening the sky a bit now to make the line visible? Just a thought. |

I can try and look at it tomorrow -- I've had some (too much) success rescuing flawed images ... how big do you need that square crop? |

Well, it's a question how bad other things can be to see the line. Needs few more minutes too look better.

Good as I could get before it started to deteriorate.
You can see the hook and some of the tangles in the line, but that's it.

Wendy, if you have the full-resolution RAW file, I'd be glad to take a cut at editing to bring out as much detail as possible. |

Definitely one of the very last people here at DPC you should be attempting to advise on matters related to photography considering the level of skill, experience and sheer fundamental natural talent in her work.

Umm. What's the title of this thread, and who's the OP? Granted, it's a bit dated, but still ... maybe a little slack? |
