Hi everyone!
I took some photos that looked dead-on on my 300d's LCD screen - I was going for a high key look and thought I had it. But when I downloaded the images to my Mac, the images looked much darker. I haven't changed the LCD settings on the 300D and my monitor calibration is good. So, what is going on? I mean, I know I can fix it in PS but I'd sure hate to come home from a vacation and discover that my shots weren't as I thought.

| I have found that, for me, the LCD is merely advisory and bracketing is a much more reliable way to get the exposure I want. It's pretty easy to do with the 300D/Rebel. |

| The histogram is your friend (and the only reliable way to judge exposure.) Turn it on so it displays with each shot during the "post shot review". |

There si general agreement that the LCD on the 300D (or 10D for that matter) generally makes a shot look brighter than it is. Definitely take thee advice posted previously and turn on the histogram during preview. It's a lifesaver.

Ditto on this. the LCD is extremely misleading even if you didnt adjust it since you got it. Press info during playback of images to see the histogram.
