I bought some new toys for my camera (new flash, neutral density filter). Since we finally had some decent weather today, I took them to Ricket's Glen State Park. If your ever in Central PA., I recommend a stop at Rickets. They have 22 water falls, the biggest being 94 ft. Anyway here are the first two pics I have finished. Any comments are welcome and appreciated.

Both of these are amazing. I wish we had a place closeby with waterfalls.

I think both of these would do well as prints.

Wonderful photos..love the b&w one.
The first one looks over saturated. There is red and green "noise" throughout. Did you push the saturation on it?
Great flow of the water. Love that effect!

Oh, wow. I have spent many, many nights at Ricket's Glen and hiked the falls trail often. Very cool pictures...makes me excited to be heading back to that area in a few days. Have you been to World's End as well?

Yes, but not since I was kid. Watkins Glen is awesome also.

Thank you for the comments everyone.

The B & W shot is excellent! Great tone & mood.
My own personal reference would be without the thin white border though.

Now regarding the color one - what happened in the PP? The shot has red & green pixelization scattered about.

I was trying something different. When adjusting the levels I set my black and white points correctly. Then for the gray point, I selected a point that was light, but not grey. It gave the image a softer mood, but your right; lots of noise.

Your up kind of early for the west coast.

If you don't mind, which version do you like better?

For the second one I used the channel mixer to create the fall look. And of course cropped differently.

This shots are beautiful, however, there's quite a lot of noise, more noticeable in the firts pic. Nice anyways.

I can't seem to clean 'um up. I even ran NI on 'em.
The second one is cropped very little. I used the Setzler 11 step processes for increasing res. from 217 to 300 DPI. USM and then Neat Image. Still noisy!!

I like the composition/angle,don't like - overburned/dogged and unnatural colors!?

Okay, after a small tutorial by Scott Kelly (The Photoshop Book), I have finally removed the noise.

Thank you all for your patience and comments.

I love the two pics but fail to find any of the noise or pixelation that was talked about by others. Could someone point out the areas that contain noise for me? The colored picture to me appears to have an orange color cast and has some burnt out areas in the water, as well as, some blocking of shadow areas in the rocks.

Olyuzi, you just made my day. I redid the pics, so hopefully there isn't much noise left. It was pretty obvious before.

What kind of exposure did you used for the black and white shot? Also, did you need to use the ND filter to achieve the exposure?

Thanks!

Yes I used /needed the ND filter. It allowed me to keep the shutter open for a full sec., giving the water the soft feel, w/out over exposing the image.
