I think it would be great to have a special (larger) submission size for panoramas. I don't take a lot myself, but it is frustrating to view someone's panorama and find it so small.

I also think it would be great if we could submit panoramas into challenges. Maybe only member challenges. I can't imagine this would open a huge can of worms, but I'm open to hearing arguments to the contrary.
So far, I've not been motivated to put together ONE panorama in the whole time I've been taking digital photos. I see DPC's role as motivating us to try new things, isn't that the point of having challenges?

That would be cool. The only problem is that most panoramas are more than one image. So that causes problems with the whole only one image part of the rules.

But an occasional Panorama+subject challenge might be fun.

Well, yes, I realise that... that is why I have raised this as an issue! Otherwise I would just submit panoramas!

I would also like to see photos allowed where 2 different exposures allow detail in a bright sky, as well as ground shadow detail. I realise this has been talked about elsewhere, but I've never seen a good argument against this use of 2 different original photos... or a good argument against the use of more than 1 photo to create a panorama.

In this thread, and also (well buried in) in this exceptionally long thread, and finally in this I have brought up for consideration various possibilities as to multi-image work, image size, etc. It's been discussed at length several times in multiple threads. I personally like many of these ideas. They are, however, somewhat problematic, in that they are a major departure from current policy. All suggestions of this type will need to be considered in light of what is both achievable within the resource limitations, as well as what is supported by the site membership.

Disclaimer:
the foregoing is personal opinion. Also bear in mind that my posts in threads I have referenced were made prior to my membership in SC.

Even if we weren't able to enter them into challenges,. I still think a larger submission size would be nice just to be able to show them off. Honestly I think the 640 pixel limit is kinda weak to begin with let alone for panaramic images. Too bad storage space isn't cheaper.
