Fraid we don't have much exciting wildlife around here either, not unless you count the human kind... :-)
I'm leaving on a 18 month trip to the caribbean here in about a month, I'll be sure to take some good pictures of the local wildlife there though. |

You lucky thing!! That will be great and you'll certainly get some great wildlife pics!
Look at investing in an underwater camera and housing, very rewarding and you can make a few £££'s at the same time. |

Do you count slime mold as animals if photographed in the motile state? |

Use to be the most unusual animal around here were the bison. But, over the past few years many of the farmers have taken to raising more exotic animals (exotic to this area anyway), such as elk, caribou, llama, zebra, emu, bison, camel, ostrich, and peacock -- all within half and hour or so of where I live.
Unfortunately, most of these are in fields that are large enough they stay quite far from the roads, so no pictures as of yet.

Actually, probably the most "unusual" animals around here are cats ... only the second vertebrate species known to domesticate and breed another for their own purposes.
DOG: "Hey, I know you ... you give me food and take me for walks sometimes."
CAT: "This is MY house, YOU just live here."

I agree with you there GeneralE, cats are sneaky, clever creatures. You have to watch what you say around them. (I think they are plotting to take the world from us.....)
Don't let them sense your fear. |
