I just downloaded five BW portraits. I am trying to improve my post-processing skills as next year, I will be handling our Yearbook (class). These picture are mostly of my students here in Bangkok. The lighting are all natural. PLEASE leave some comment in the picture. I am looking forward to learn more from your valuable critics. Thanks.

Wow, excellent stuff you got here. I like the second one the best. I like the angles and lighting on all of them.

I'm very impressed. I like all of them, but my favorite is the first. It just looks very natural and I like the colors. You really have a knack for the posing and angles, I think.

These are all wonderful! My favorites are the first and the third, but all are fantastic. But then again, the majority of your shots are. :) I think you'll do a great job on the yearbook, they're lucky to have your expertise and vision.

All I have to say is, WOW. Those are some really amazing shots. I love the angles you used and the lighting is excellent for being all natural. If you didn't state that, I would have assumed some of these shots were shot in a studio w/ lighting.

Overexposure worked really well in the cases that you used it. As others already pointed out, the eyes in the fourth shot seem a little soft and would probably benefit from some sharpening. Other than that, great work.

By the way, what lens did you use to take these portraits with?

Great shots! My favorites are #1 and #3. I like #1 because the lighting and everything looks natural. #3 because of the pose and it looks good as a duotone. The others are good starts but I don't care much for the overexposure. Have fun on the yearbook!

Awesome shots - wow- ho wdid you get all that natural lighting to work with you?
I have tried so hard but keep going nowhere :(
Really cool shots - the BW shots dont look flat at all - they seem to jump out at you.
Cheers mate !

Great shots, especially the second and third ones.
The first and fourth seem to be oversoftened giving that 'neat imaged' look. The 5th one is too harsh in the face for me.

To Everyone who commented and those who will comment...

The portrait shots are with my Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens. I love shallow DOF but sometimes, I think I miss the focus. The fourth shot (Bianca) is an example. The first (Paula) is my favorites.

As what I've said in my first message, any comment will be highly appreciated.

Many thanks. i am learning a lot from your comments. The yearbook work will never be fun but i will try to make it fun for me and the kids.
