Can anyone tell me what advantages (if any) there are of using the Adobe RGB parameter setting? My Rebel is set by default to Parameter 1.

the adobe settings are good if you are going to do workin the digital darkroom. I tested some shots out on all parameters to check things out & found that the adobe is good when I want to fix things up in the DDR

I don`t think there are any advantages in using Adobe RGB parameter.
I shot parameter 1. If you want the best possible image i guess you should use raw. |

Off the subject but what the devil is all this "bump" stuff? I've seen it in several posts so if someone could enlighten me, I'd be thrilled!

adobe RGB gives you more robust color but you have
to finish it as Rooster said in the "Digital Dark Room" |

inserting 'bump' into a thread will bring it back to the top of the 'most recent threads' and may invoke more response
