Some shameless auto-promotion here. But I'm very happy to say that this challenge gave me my best result in position. 9th is pretty good if you ask me. I was hoping for a ribbons, but i'll wait for next time :)
Thanks to all that voted and commented, to you that voted 2s and 3s you know what I think :p.

If you don't promote yourself who will :)
I love this shot. Very simple and elegant. Congrats on your top 10 well deserved.

It was a very high scoring challenge. I made my third highest score 5.812 61/206 71% ) and still only made 61st.
The quality of image was astounding.
Congrats to everyone. |

I also got my best score, and my first top 10 rating.
I can remember when I was a kid, my dad wanted me to be very involved in sports. We used to have these little track meets, where all the kids would race, and throw balls and stuff. My dad would take me in the back yard and we would "train" for weeks before hand. The thing was that I was horrible at sports. I just didn't have any interest. I would enivatably come in almost dead last (I could usually beat jennifer gardner, the hammer toed, cross eyed girl) but believe me I never got one of the ribbons they gave to the top three contestants. When i got home from the event, my dad would always ask me where my ribbons were, I would always lie and tell him that I got 4th place, I almost got that ribbon.
thanks for liking my pic. I love dpc.

I had my best finish as well, with a 6.377, which I thought might place me higher than the 22nd place I got. But I'm did reach one of my goals on the way to ribboning, which was a 90%+ finish. Now to shoot for top ten, and then....the WORLD!
Thanks for all who gave their support. This is one of my favorite shots I've done yet, for sure. |

Thanks David, I think I am a little bit away yet, but I'll just keep ploddin, my DOF entry is in the low 5s at the moment, but I like it.
Hope for some good comments, I had a great response to the last.
Thanks all again.

Got my best score for this one, too. After the first 10 votes, I had an incredible 8.000! Thought I had a shot at yellow, but the field was just too good. I'm still thrilled with 6th (I'll call it a tie for 5th), and my second top-10 finish. My Deep DOF entry is sitting above 6.5 at the moment, so there's still hope. I don't think I'll see a 7 until we have a Sevens challenge. ;-)

Anything over a 6 in my book is doing very well! Congratulations on your score!

I loved this one Shannon, note my comment about the print, I think it would be super,

Thanks, Paul. Your comment didn't fall on deaf ears. I've never submitted a pic for print before, so I'll have to look into it. Maybe I can eke out a free membership for next year.
I have better shots from my trip to Florida that week (that didn't necessarily fit the challenge), but I couldn't post them and maintain anonymity during the voting. I'll have show-n-tell later this week! |

Looking forward to seeing them, as for the prints, I haven't sold one yet but even so it is handy for purchasing them yourself, excellent quality and they are very reasonably priced too.
