You can embed a watermark in PS7 by using Filter > Digimarc > Embed Watermark but that isnt visible.
If you want a big copyright through the middle of the image then just add text on the image, which should put it on a new layer, and then change opacity in the layers option so it's not so prominent.
More commonly people increase the canvas size to add a border around the image and then just add name and year.

I once read a smart trick in Practical Photography magazine: Always crop the photo, even though it's just a little bit, because then you can proof the photo is your work by having the original.

I don't know how to do it...but remember, it's not legal on your DPC challenge submission. |

A signature like in the lower right hand corner of that pic?
I made that one by signing a white piece of paper and scanning in the signature. Then I selected only the text (selected by RGB value (I think) so it grabbed everything but the white background), and pasted into a new image with the background set to transparent in the new image. Then you can change the text color, resize, etc. Simple cut and paste into whatever image you want.
But as hbunch noted, it ain't legal on DPC challenge submissions. |

Thanks for the tips, I quite like the 'real' signature and may play with that idea but do need to take pics worthy of it first :)

hmm, just uploaded my first two prints, both without a signature but was wondering....
If the image is offered for sale at (say) 6x4 thru to 24x20 the 'signature' would not increase/decrease proportinately, to keep the signature at (say) 14 point would I need to upload a seperate print for each size? or do peeps think this would not be a problem?
Thanks

You need to size it so it "looks right" at the LARGEST print size; for the rest it will decrease proportionally, perhaps even to the point of invisibility. I always put my text in the border so it doesn't matter as much. |
