i thought this was pretty cool, and thought i would share it.
a bit of enhancement was done.

That looks like the beginnings of a funnel cloud... quite unusual for Vermont!

yeah, kind of what i thought - odd, but i have heard that couple small tornandos have touched down in that vincinity.

camels hump is just to the right.
mt mansfield just to the left.

Tornadoes can happen just about anywhere in the country; and that's certainly the beginnings of one, whether or not it made it to ground level.

Yeah -- distant is a good way to keep that kind of storm. Nice shot!

That is an excellent shot. What did you for enhancements? What lens did you use?

canon 75-300mm f:4-5.6 III - 110mm - f:16 - 1/400 - ISO 800 - handheld - uncropped

post processing:
selected the sky, and clouds. gaussian blur 6 px - selection feathered 2px - faded to 50%. USM same as below.

on lower layer ( trees ) used curves and levels to add contrast - resized - USM 75%, 0.6, 0

no - it didnt touch down, i watched it until it started weakening, and breaking up.
