If I go to a baseball game and take pictures of the game, some shots with multiple players and then others with just an individual (pitcher, catcher, coach, umpire, batter, etc.) what are the rules if I want to offer these pictures for sale? Can these be posted at DPCPrints for sale? I was going to put them up on DPCPrints and then inform the ball club that they or their players could purchase the prints through DPCPrints. Am I breaking any laws or rules here? I'm assuming that if it is a game that is open to the public it should be free game, right?
Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Different rules apply to different venues. Sometimes you're on public property and sometimes private.
Read the back of the ticket and any signs posted. Someplaces prohibit photography, some limit the use of flashes or certain lenses/camera types. You're probably OK selling action or portrait photos, but you can't use team or league logos for commercial/promotional purposes. |

Do you already have a ticket? If so, the back of your ticket should answer your question, at least for Major League Baseball.
(I'm hoping you do so I don't have to type out mine)

There are no rules as far as taking pictures inside the stadium. I know that is allowed because everyone does it and they will even let you sit of the field along the wall outside the fowl lines as long as you stay put during innings. I'm just concerned about getting in trouble selling prints of individuals. I don't want to offer the prints and then have someone come back and say that they don't want me selling their picture.
Unfortunately I do not have a ticket stub.
Thoughts?

their is likley some 'release' on the ticket as your image may be brodcast on TV, etc.
If you take a pic of a player and try and sell a poster of him, I would bet you'd be chased down by him, the team and major league baseball.

I guess I will call the stadium and ask them. I guess it would be a league rule? These players being minor league would probably appreciate all of the publicity without protest. :)
The poster you see in the pics here is made specifically for the player at his request.
Thanks!

The rule is probably the same league-wide, but the home team is generally the copyright owner and has the right to make the decision.

This sounds like major league, right? I think my best bet will be to look at the back of the next ticket stub I get. That will probably provide some information and if not I will just ask someone in charge at the ball park.
Thanks!
