I spotted this monster on a sidewalk in Florida. It's gotta be the biggest wasp I've ever seen- about 1 1/4" in length. While it wasn't dead yet, the stinger appeared to be deployed. Glad I wasn't on the receiving end!

Forget the wasp, didn't you noticed the 256MB compact flash on the ground too :P

Speaking of 'hemoths, here's a rather large (7" long!) grasshopper.

Funny you should mention that Dale, I caught one of those hoppers (though slightly smaller) the same day, but didn't have my cam with me. Here's one that should be all-too-familiar to the Mid-Atlantic members...

i had that moth in my room once, and it kept dive bombing me and my girlfriend in the dark and landing on us. when something that big flies by your ear and lands on you.... you scream
