I have a bit of a problem . . . I am "left-handed" for writing only, and even then, I have to turn my paper almost upside-down to write. I am unable to use my left when I have to go horizontal or up on an easel/blackboard. I use my right hand for the mouse (and everything else). I bought a small tablet to get going, but find it very hard to follow the screen and use it because of my "hand confusion". Any tips, suggestions, who uses what, etc.??? Thanks for any and all help as usual!
(I am assuming that most good post-editing done here is with a tablet. True?)

Give me your tablet... problem solved.
I used to own a tablet and it was great... silly me gave it to mom in law. I don't have any real trouble using a mouse for post-editing, although tablets do make it easier... just not in your case???
Not any help... I know... just couldn't be the 24th viewer/no reply. |

Thanks Kali. I figured it would be a pretty unusual problem. BTW, how did you know how many people had viewed this question? Is it because I use Community to see all the threads that I am not seeing the counts? I'll have to go check!

Hey, I'm left handed too. I do all single handed sports (squash/tennis) left handed but all 2 handed sports (cricket/golf) right handed - tis weird

Wow, that is small. Nevermind... I don't want it :)
I'm sure you've tried holding it all different ways and nothing "feels" right... Hmm... maybe it's too small?
Oi... this is starting to sound perverted. |

Have you looked at Wacom for hints on editing with you new toy. I couldn't find anything about being left handed but the site as tons of cool tricks to play with. |

I am similarly handed. I write with my left (poorly), and I mouse with my right.
I have several tablets that I haven't used in years. Mainly because they used to replace the mouse. Now I've been told you can keep your old mouse connected and still use the tablets (so I could put the table on the left, and the mouse on the right.
I do a lot of editing with the mouse now--I find it very easy to use for photo editing. But I wouldn't try writing my name with it.
I just bought a Gateway 275 convertible notebook, so I can get out of my office some when I am doing DPC or photo editing. I think that might be one solution for you if you can afford it--direct on screen editing.

I still use my Sony mouse I don't really like the one that's included with the tablet. |

With most tablet software you can turn the aspect of the screen so that it is sideways on the tablet. I'm not sure if that would help you, but it might be worth a try. [/url] |

Thanks to all! Just got home from making myself go out and park & walk to all those places I keep meaning to photograph!! I am going to see if I can turn the aspect around and check out Waconm's tips later. I immediately got rid of the mouse that came with the tablet when I first got it, and have the tablet on the left and my trusty mouse on the right. Thanks again!!!
