Hi guys. I'm on the road and my laptop only has CS5 on it. No LR. I downloaded the software from Adobe, but the installation requires that I use a *.7z file and a .dmg file, neither of which my computer can seem to handle.

I'm running Windows 7. Any ideas...?? I've obviously done it before, since I installed CS5 on this. But now the installation is not working....

I need to upgrade because neither Bridge nor PS can read the files from my D750. I've updated both, but neither can read my NEF files....

Maybe you downloaded the Mac version? The .dmg file is a Mac Disc-Image file; when "launched" it makes a virtual hard drive on the desktop as a substitute for using a CD/DVD installation disc. I'm not aware of a similar function under Windows.

No idea what a ".7z" file would be though ...

The 7Z file is essentially an open-source zip archive. Normally, a windows download won't have a 7z extension, so I also think you may have a Mac download here.
