Description:

Take a photo that includes one or more tools you use in the outdoors (for any 'Sportsmen' related adventures).

You could consider tools as "gadgets" or "trinkets" too.

Examples: Fisherman's multi-tool, a Rifleman's spotting scope, or even one of those little tripod seats.

Advanced rules please.

maybe expand it to "sports equipment" in general...

Hmmm ... I was thinking more along of the line of Outdoorsman type stuff, i.e. Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Camping ...

Sports equipment is a bit too broad and loses that "rugged" aspect I was going for.

I'm curious as to the OP was edited by SC - I had initially been inspired for this challenge suggestion from a conversation in another thread and had one of our members in mind as a tribute type of thing. :-(

So guess using 'Sportsman' in the challenge suggestion is the wrong choice or word?

Ha! Got me there.

However, I don't usually put sports equipment with the term Sportsman either. Sports equipment, for me anyway, relates more to Athlete.

yes, so maybe "Outdoorsmen" or "The Great Outdoors" might be more specific ... or just "Hunting, Fishing, and Camping"

I knew exactly what he meant when I saw the title "sportsman". I guess living in Louisiana where our nickname is "sportsman's paradise" would explain that. It's even on our license plates.

The definition I found of sportsman is, "a man who engages in sports, especially in some open-air sport, as hunting, fishing, racing, etc." but I have seen it as a person who participates in sports as well so I can see how that can be confusing.

That being said, I like the idea of a hunting / fishing equipment challenge.

As long as voters think things other than fishing rods and rifles are ok :)
