You will be lucky to get 5 votes in 6hrs at the beginning of a challenge these days. Use to be that you had about 50 votes by the first day, but that's going a few yrs back! If it stays like this I prob won't stay next yr.

And perhaps a healthy dash of positivity might help too!
Just voted on 100%. I'm rocking a 6.22 myself.
There is a week to vote though - and this time of year plenty of people are away. I'm on vacation myself and might more rationally be sunning myself... |

I think people are tired of posting scores and having others state they are complaining when they are just stating a fact.
"My image is 5.79 @ 49 votes".
"Awww damn, my image only has 49 votes and is way below my norm...it's only 5.79" |

| Post DPL doldrums. 6 weeks of intense "gotta shoot - gotta vote - why do even the great images' scores suck?!" and if others are like me they're ready for a break. My snapshot was getting votes right up until the finalists were announced and then it got quiet for at least 24 hours. Number of vote and the relative value of said vote has been rising today, so I think people are just getting back into it. |

You know, if everyone who's feeling negative about the Decline of DPC would, instead of bemoaning the lack of participation, start a thread on some photographic subject of general (or even esoteric) interest to photographers, then maybe people would start coming back. If everyone who bemoans the Decline in Interesting Challenge Topics would instead propose some interesting chasllenges, they'd certainly get scheduled...
