So my question is, how can we go about making the exchange when we live across the country from each other? Is there any secure way to do that? Thanks in advance =)

thru the mail. buy insurance to cover any damage that might occur during shipping.

If you want to be fully covered, try one of those pack & ship places.

They will pack it and make sure that is securely packaged & double boxed.

Don't forget the insurance...definitely a small price to pay for the peace of mind it will give you.

im more worried about them sending the money... I want to make sure I get my money too. Is there a way where like they have to sign for it and give a check or something?

get an email confirmation that they agree to buy it for the given price.
not sure you can st something up like COD. you can have them post date a check & send it to you before you send the cam out.

You can use PayPal - it's very easy and convenient.

What does post dating the check do?

Paypal requires a bank account, something I do not have :(

Did you sell it through Ebay? If so you could use their escrow service.

Paypal is a valid way to get payment also.

Postal money orders are good also, and very safe.

I would definitely recommend that you get paid before you ship the camera.

UPS - used to do a Cash On Delivery thing - don't know if they still do. Also, you can send things via the Post Office COD - Cash On Delivery. They have to pay at the Post Office before it is given to them and the Post Office sends the money to you.

There are also escrow services - where people pay the escrow services, even using their credit card and then the escrow tells you the people have paid - you send the item and when they tell the escrow they have received the item the escrow service sends you the money.

I paid for a sewing machine this way and it works quite well.

you might be able to use a 3rd party, like a local camera shop near the buyer. You'd send them the camera, buyer would come in and check it out and then pay. The camera shop would then send you the money.

Or, you just make them send you a money order or cashier's check and you ship it once the money is received.
