Who do you think will be the next American Idol?
Or.....
Who would you like to see as American Idol Fantasia or Diana?

Fantasia. Without a doubt. Diana is cute and all, but Fantasia is a real pro.
Not that I watch that show....

| Diana has a lot of talent in her own right, but Fantasia rocks! I really liked La Toya too. I was sad to see her voted off. I think the final 3 should have been La Toya, Fantasia and Diana. I think also that would have changed the final 2 to Fantasia and La Toya. In that case, I would have had a hard time deciding, but feel Fantasia is still probably the one with the most talent. |

Ah, but as proven repeatedly this show isn't about talent. If it was, John Stevens would have been gone much earlier.
Just remember, Americans love an underdog. Tonight should be interesting.

Yeah I liked La Toya too, with that being said I think the top 10 should be accomplishing something after the show is done.
With their talent they dont have to stop with American Idol even if they were voted off...and not chosen as the final idol.

Fantasia!! Love her and she rocked the house last night! Fantasia!!
Diana is young and will do well in time. She's good.
Latoya is the one that got the short end of the stick. I know her talent will shine and make her a big star. She didn't need A.I. to get a contract. |

I've been watching the series when I can just to hear Fantasia sing. Awesome. A unique talent.
I hope she comes second ... because she will make it big anyway, and won't have to carry the 'American Idol Winner' tag around for the rest of her career! |

I cannot stand Fantasia! Her voice is nothing but annoying and I would never buy an album with her on it. And her "chicken dance" is just... pathetic.
Watching the judges fawn all over her last night made me want to puke. Especially their comments about Diana being "too young" to sing the song that they forced her to sing (like being 3 years older makes it a more appropriate song for Fantasia? Maybe it is OK for her because she is unwed and already has a child at 19, so she has more "life experience". Now there's some great "idolness" for other teen girls to imitate.) And then blaming Fantasia's poor first performance on the arrangement, background singers and orchestra. Yeah whatever. Fantasia was my least favorite of any of the finalists. I would have much rather seen LaToya or even Jennifer continue on when all three of them got voted into "the bottom 3".
I felt compelled for the first time ever to call in and vote. I've never done it before, but last night I got through 3 times for Diana. I'm sure it won't help, but at least I tried.

I like Diana to win, but I have a feeling Fantasia will win from last night's performance and the judges obvious favorite.
I agree though with EddyG, her voice is just annoying :)

She sings a little too high in range for me. A little too nasaly. BUT, when shes digs down deep, her voice is awesome. Alot of character. She also has attitude. That goes a LONG way in the music business.
Diana, sings well, but after last night's major blunder in her 3rd song, there's no way she should win.
As for Fantasia's first song, it sucked. She sang OK, but it was not a good arrangement for her to sing with. It did not showcase her properly. I think that's what the judges were going on about.
Anyhow, the whole show is bogus, anyway. Jennifer Hudson was BY FAR the best signer on this competition.
Amazing how I know this, when I never watch this show. LOL!

I said from the start that I liked Fantasia to win it and I totally expected it to be Latoya and Fantasia. Fantasia almost has a Macy Gray sound in her voice.
EddyG, while I respect your photography skills it seems immature to associate a choice in life with someone not be a good representative. Frankly regardless of anyone's feelings about an individual what would you call a man who fed a cocaine habit and emotionally abused his own family for years? Right now we call him President and he's certainly made several decisions for the better and for the worse that affect everyone in this nation if not the whole world. That isn't a politically motivated statement; it just goes to show that you can't judge the eventual social value of an individual based on one or two poor choices they make when they are younger. The contest isn't supposed to be based on what kind of decisions Fantasia or Diana made up to this point; I think Fantasia just has a stronger voice and I like her singing better.

| My comment was a statement on the fact that the show is called "American Idol". If the show was called "American Singing Contest", I wouldn't have even mentioned it, but the fact that the show purports to "idolize" the winner says to me that it is more than a singing contest. You need to have the "entire package" (and even the judge's have said basically that). But that's just my opinion. |

Couldn't agree more! Fantasia is too predicatable for me. I'm much more excited to see what Diana will do since I believe she is IMO much more versatile.
I have to admit thought that Diana was not her best last night. Oh well - at this point they are all winners and I don't think today's results will affect either of their future singing careers - except the initial contract promised by the Idol show. |

It's not the choices you made in the past but the decisions you make in the present to affect your future. It may not have been the right choice to be an unwed mother at 19 but we, or at least I, do not know the circumstances involving that. There are plenty of girls at her age and younger who are already in her position. Fantasia tried out for a dream and is on her way to making it a reality instead of staying at home and not doing anything with her life. I think that is certainly something for people that were in her position to look up to and hopefully would follow the example and do try and follow their dreams.
I have not been in her position but I can still feel admiration, respect, and inspiration for her efforts and certainly consider her more of a role model at her present position than a 16 year old girl who has been singing professionally since she was 5 or something.

| i read somewhere that Fantasia's rating went down once the audience found out that she is a single unwed mother at 19. i guess to alot of people that seems to matter, even tho the show is about who can sing, and who cant. cause if the show was based on who would be a good role model, then i guess i should gain some weight to be like ruben. |

You may be right but did you know that on her third song on the new stage she accidentally moved out of the area that she could hear her music? I guess that is part of it.

I suspected as much. She should have known where to go and be safe. That's part of being an entertainer. I play music as well, and sometimes technical things go wrong. You just have to ride them out.
She is a good singer, don't get me wrong. In my opinion, her age does show in her performances, though. Fantasia, just has more of the whole package.
We'll see.

Did anybody notice when Seacrest waved to Fanatasia's family to bring her child to the stage, the producers (or whoever they were) stopped them? I'm wondering if that had something to do with it.
