When Shadows are at their harshest and light is at its worst. Every photog worth his/her lens cap must be able to deal with it artfully. Sorry for those in the Pacific Northwest, Merry Old England and/or somewhere in the rainy monsoon season.
"Take a picture at high noon, or as close to the sun being directly over head as possible. Creatively deal with the harsh light of broad sunny daylight."
Advanced. Minimal would be cruel.

Made me laugh - but oh so challenging when the sun doesn't want to shine

should be set over a month. As was the case with Rain.
Sun's shining now here, but it's a faint one.
Summer doesn't mean necessarily sunshine :) |

Winter here. No sunshine over the last few days. |

Nothing but broad (sunny) daylight here in the Pacific Northwest. For weeks now. I'd appreciate a cloud or two. |

Maybe title it "High Noon Shootout" or something? Those who don't read challenge descriptions might go all golden-hour on us based on your title alone?
ETA: Actually, we did something like this in October 2010: Mid-Day Sun

Here's the description from Mid-Day Sun in 2010
Description
One of the frequent critiques challenge entries receive is being shot in the harsh and unflattering mid-day sun. Sometimes we don't have a choice about when we can shoot a certain scene. We can, however, learn to use that midday light to advantage through creative composition and post processing choices. Enter a photo taken in the normally lousy midday sun that overcomes the usual limitations of that time of day. |

Mid-day sun in October is much kinder than mid-day sun in June or July. Just a thought! |

That's weird, it dropped a post of mine saying the same thing... This is the right time of year to do this in the northern hemisphere, for sure. Not so much so for our friends down under, of course. |
