Has anyone confirmed IR use - specifically Hoya RM72 Infrared Glass Filter, on the Nikon d100?

I read through some post, and it looks like Canon supports.

 Thanks,

 David

I've not tried my D100 with a filter but I've shot a picture of the beam from my TV remote confirming that the D100 will record IR.

have you tried the pointing your remote at it and looking through the viewfinder or the lcd (my Nikon 5700 had to be through the lcd screen). I used the TV jack and plugged the camera into the TV, pointed a remote control at it and there was the little light moving around, where I pointed it.

Those are "sorta" confirmations, but not 100% what I was looking for. I appreciate the responses. I'll mess around with the TV remote too.

 Anyone else? |

You might want to post the question over at DPReview in the Nikon forums. Actually, you might just search that forum, prolly the answere is already there.

The TV remote is absolute proof. Hold the volume button down and shoot it. If you can see the infrared light, your camera can shoot IR.

Follow up to this thread. Got the filter and it works. I did the TV Remote test as suggested. It was ugly, but it worked.

This is my first go around with it. Let me know what you think.

Something that may help with your pics also...used it with my 5700, and going to with the D70 as soon as I get the new filter.
