well not really an outtake but here is an advanced edit of my entry, which I like a lot better

Sorry I think we were supposed to post in here:

I like this idea I edited a few version of my submission for stock and thought I would share what I would have done with advanced editing rule set. Not a ton of change but I would have chosen this one for my entry because I was able to fix a few things I didn't like:

Here is my entry with a few things fixed:

bumping this for those who want to enter their edited shots from the minimal challenge. I would love to see them.

I was easily talked out of the original color version of mine because the white balance was off, but here are edits in both color and bw.

Happy with mine unedited, but that's just me.

I think this would have done better. Quite a bit better. Instead of adding ambiance or looking mysterious or alluring or intriguing, the smoke just looks like an attempt to hide the subject, I think, which is not what I look for in a portrait challenge.

Thanks Nikki. I didn't enter that one, though, because I really like it a lot. And that's a recipe for disaster here. :-)

Must be someone close to you. I hate that and it has kept me from entering more than one challenge.

I think I messed up the white balance on mine -- maybe the "Basic"-edited version looks better ...

I had a pile of shots from the shoot I did with my daughter, but most needed some edits that I couldn't do.

My entry:

My other possibles:

My entry was my wife and daughter's favourite, I was on the fence but was leaning toward the fourth one.

After my shoot I had wished I didn't have that tiger flag up in the background. It didn't really work and showed up crooked in most of my shots. If I had more time I would have reshot it.

These didn't look good as JPG's but with some processing I liked them:
