I would be surprised if I am the only person who's work or family occasionally forces them away from their computer, and therefore this site, for the weekend, but would it be possible to extend the proof period to 72 hours to allow for the possibility? I got back to my terminal to find that ugly red mark under my entry. I understand that the SC needs time to review the shots and a drop deap line sometime befor the challenge closes makes sense, but why the 48 hour mark? Couldn't it be extended out to 72 hours without major difficulties? If I had gotten the notice any day but on a Friday the 48 would have been enough, but sometimes life just gets in the way of DPChallenges. Poor priorities I know, but divorce is even more expensive than a MarkII, and I can't afford either. |

One of the things we do is after the 48 hours is look to see if the user has been online. If not, we may try to recontact him/her or wait a bit longer. If they have, then things may be a bit different.
There isn't an automated system that counts down and at exactly 48 hours you are dq'ed. If you get the message, and aren't somewhere where you can upload it, simply send d/l a message explaining the circumstances.
I promise, we SC are human, and understand that life happens.
(I wasn't seeing a dq'ed picture in your profile, so I am assuming this is for a current challenge?) |

Ya the current challenge, Tried to upload it a few times from my hard disk, even found that I had used a card I don't like very much for the shot so it was still on the CF, so I tried that. File came through corrupt. Then life interruppted.
This morning I punched aroud and think I found the reason, (Eathilink accelerator upgrade patch, I think) but too late to help. I understood when I chose to let the proof slide that I would be DQed and I'm not bitter (much) but another 24 and I think I could have proven the shot, and I do resent losing the comments that people bothered to write. Is there a way of seeing those that I am missing?
As to the humanity of the SC, What' the White Zombie song? More human than human? |

If you can proove your shot is legal we may be able to un-DQ it, email to proof to one of the site council.

So perhaps the spiffy new accelerator fron Earthlink works by cutting the information sent in half? Would tend to speed things up even if it does make it just a bit pointless to send at all. |
