Alligator going golfing
LOL my fav one
I saw this and I about died and cracked up laughing, what an wonderful op to capture something like this! I love my reptiles, so this would be absolutely awesome to see in person.
I don't think the gator would do the golfing though kinda funny

Wow. I wonder what it was thinking. I mean, these guys rely onstealth and camouflage, neither of which are available here:) |

But golfers are the perfect prey for alligators...the gators can lurk in them fancy ponds dotting golf courses everywhere (giving a whole new meaning to the term water hazard) and golfers as a general rule are physically, really slow and not terribly attentive as they're too busy concentrating on a little white ball. And there's lots of old ones out there (golfers I mean, not gators) so they make easy pickings, if probably not the tastiest!
So if I were an amphibious critter capable of really short, high bursts of speed...hey, if I were a gator, I'd be snacking on slow-moving, distracted ol' geezers with no dress sense, too ;-)

You need to get the bears and gators to forget the golfing geezers and start chowing down on those 20-ft Burmese pythons that are taking over the Everglades ... :-( |

Uhm I'm afraid it would be the pythons snacking on the bears and gators, with geezer golfers for dessert. Whoda'thunk that the exotic pet trade would ever lead to such an enviro disaster? *sigh* |

Hmmm, maybe you can talk your unwelcome critters into peacefully grazing on kudzu.
Thus removing two presumed problems. |

We have Air Potato plant...it's not native and is very invasive. Kudzu is here but I don't think I've ever seen it..maybe Northern Florida (very rural)...I'll have to look up more info on the kudzu...
I will say it's the golden orb spiders that totally creep me out. I'll take roaches, gators, bear, exotic snakes etc...but good golly NO FREAK'n spiders!!! |

So far I have only known one person who was grabbed by a gator. It was a little old lady who lived by herself at Copeland Florida, on a canal.
They have a big bad reputation, but it's the crocks you have to be wary of. |

Getting close to gators is a really cool thing, all we have is birds and squirrels.
The closest I was to a gator was when I went on a swamp tour in LA and we got to go on an air boat.
Seeing those things up close is so amazing and wondrous, Of course I love all bugs, insects and creatures high and low.
This is Hercules the largest gator that was in the swamp at the time, he was MIA for 3 months and then when we went on tour, he was like there showing off for us, just awesome! Could have stayed there all day playing with them
Taken with my point and shoot
My bro in law and sister in law just moved to FL this last fall and they just came across their first gator while they were fishing. He said it scared the beezes out of him LOL!
