Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there was atncentral and it hosted a whole slew of Photoshop actions for those of us either too lazy or too incompetent to create our own. It appears to have gone the way of the Dodo. Does anyone know of another really cool repository of Photoshop actions??

Yeah, they shut up shop last November. I haven't checked any of these out, but here is, supposedly, a list of 50 alternative sites to check out.

What types of actions do people do? The only thing that I do that's the same is the librodo sharpening and saving/sharpening. Everything else seems so picture specific...

Well, I have an action to resize to 1200 whilst applying adamus sharpening... But here's the thing; a LOT of high end actions have cutouts in the flow where you make a manual adjustment and then click OK to proceed. Anytime you have a processing flow for a particular effect you can capture an action that allows customization within the workflow. It's no different, really, from saving a preset in CEP4, say, as one example. You can open an image in CEP4, apply the preset, then alter the parameters of the component parts of the preset to get what you want.

In cases like this, both actions and presets are customizable templates that give you a framework of repetitive steps on which you can embellish variations.
