wasn't sure where to post this....
i rencently got a DQ because the orignal capture taken with my standard iPad camera was not able to be uploaded to DPC or via email with compete EXIF data embedded. specifically, the original capture/creation date was missing, as well as other info.
based on some internet searching, there has apparently been some changes in iOS 8 that casused this issue.
i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with invalid originals whe using an iPad, and if there are any known apps that generate originals that would be valid for DPC?

I just took a pic with my iPad2 with the latest iOS (8.1.3).
Using my iMac's Preview Inspector, all of the EXIF seems to be there; Date/Time Digitized, Date/Time Original...
ETA: Not that I use the iPad to take pictures and I haven't entered in a while..., but all of the EXIF seems to be there.

sorry, need to clarify. i can see all the EXIF looking at the photo on the iPad. it is when the photo is transferred OUT from the iPad to DPC or sent via email, or uploaded to DropBox, that the EXIF gets messed up.
so, EXIF ok when looking at photo with the iPad
EXIF NOT ok when photo is transferred to some other place

Aaah. That's beyond my skill set. Sorry, I don't know anything about that issue...
Good luck in resolving that...

I have had this problem all along and asked a few on DPC and no one has been able to help. Whilst travelling I use my camera to take the images then upload them to my ipad. A few times I've gotten into the top 5 whilst being away and everytime I sent the original via email the exif data was wiped off. Thankfully the last time that happened when I ribboned with this image we were due home 3 days after, and Robert gave me leeway to take my time to submit the original when i got home. |

What's happening for Mark is that it's the iPAD camera produces the original. No matter how he sends it to us (even external email) there's no EXIF. The problem lies somewhere in the ipad itself. |
