I'm getting out of Canon completely - pretty much all my stuff is accounted for now.
I can see the temptation but my 5D3 has been staying in my kit drawer too much of the time. Flexibility - especially in relation to size has meant I've consolidated around my Leica lenses, I'll be buying a Sony A7II as a second body with an auto-focus option.
I guess the SLR manufacturers will have to rebuild their USP to stop the haemorrhage to mirrorless - especially now there are such good full frame options that allow you to use pretty much any lens. Seeing (and feeling the weight of) my Leica kit bag compared to my Canon backpack is quite a thing...

I'm wondering when this MP acceleration is going to stop. I can barely handle these giant files I get with the 36MP camera I have. How much do we really need???

IMO unless you want a short of cheaper medium format (but still with a smaller sensor) this camera doesn't make sense. Worse ISO, worse continuous shooting, worse video. It's just a stunning studio camera but not what 5DIII were waiting. In my humble opinion, of course. |
