Was on vacation and saw this hawk above the beach. I was surprised how it almost seems desaturated.

When it landed on a nearby building and I wasn't looking up at the sky, it still looked a lot white w/grey markings.



He/she was really gorgeous.....anyone have an idea of what it may be?

I was thrown off by how white and NOT brown this fellow is...

I am not sure about yours, but this is an image of an osprey that I took near where I live. They do look similar don't they?

Ospreys are brown above and white below, and overall they are whiter than most raptors. From below, the wings are mostly white with a prominent dark patch at the wrists. The head is white with a broad brown stripe through the eye. Juveniles have white spots on the back and buffy shading on the breast. Females tend to have a band of brown across the top of the breast and less protuberant eyes than the males.
