So, I'm working on a ginormous image, tried saving, and PS is telling me it has exceeded the PS file size. There is a reason it is this size, and I don't want to reduce it....

Any ideas?

Are you exceeding the pixel dimensions or "file size" on disk?

If the former, you might try cutting it into two halves, doing parallel editing on the two files, then re-attaching them for the final version (using something other than PS if necessary).

Is it greater than 2Gb?

Can you flatten layers?

did you try typing: Load "$",8,1

For files over 2 GB, you can still save it as large document format (.psb)

Exceeded file size (over 2 gigs).

Did not know about saving as a large document format... that will be useful.

I didn't want to flatten because I want to see the layers (still tweaking).

I did think of saving it in halves, but managed to save only one half, and lost the other. Fortunately, I did first save the whole thing as a jpg, so there's that....

No, don't know what this is, nor where I would type it.

I have seen a warning on some of my images being larger than 2GB when saved, I ignored the warning and I have no problems

the warning mentions other TIF viewers may not work properly, I use windows image viewer and it still works on files larger than 2gb

I used the large file setting and had no problems.

Armando, I think it depends on how much larger than 2G it is.
