Awesome video. So it can fly pretty far and still maintain wireless streaming video? How can you tell if it's about to go out of range?

If it does go out of transmitter range it returns to the set home point which is recorded before you take off if pre flight is done properly and will auto land itself but you can regain control once back in range, some guys with modification flying 10000 foot away

I had it out to about 1200 feet away

I saw a humorous video where a drone went out of range and returned to home. Unfortunately there was a mesa between the drone and home. The video captures the aftermath in great detail. :)

most the crash and "fly away videos" are just poor piloting

you can have dynamic home point on which if you are moving changes the home point

you also can set the altitude of your return to home mine is set to 40m which is about 120 ft

also as soon as its back in range flicking s1 switch regains control and you can land it or continue sadly ppl don't read the manual or plan their flights

im a member of the forums and user groups, there has been a plethora of xmas present pilots whinging about crashes etc since the 25th when with a little digging it becomes clear it was their fault

Since this thread first came out, I've upgraded to a Phantom 2 (still using GoPros). If you're interested, here are a few videos I've done to highlight some of our local communities (near Pittsburgh):

Ambridge
Baden
Economy Borough
Harmony Township

Here in uk unless you have permission from civil aviation authority which requires registering and training etc about £2000 to get approved you aren't allowed to fly within 150m of congested areas 50m away from any person or animal and permission of the person in control of the land plus 50m away from any machine or vehicle you aren't in control of,

I've got mine for doing photos and videos of my construction company but also fly it out in the country side

But I'll be staying away from ppl houses etc

Nice smooth videos though

I fancy the dji inspire 1 with the 4k camera but at £3000 bit more of a step up

The phantoms running the go pro 4s are also very nice can do high hd video and shoot a still every 2 seconds

Are you flying line of sight or using fpv with fat shark etc type set up?
