I can't help getting easily confused as i'm pretty new to slrs but am I right in thinking my 300D won't auto focus this lense because it go's up to 6.7 |

If it reports 6.7 to the camera, you're right, it won't autofocus.
However, on my sigma 50-500mm (f6.3 at 500mm) it lies to the camera and still says it's f5.6, which is the smallest aperture that will allow it to autofocus.
I'm not sure whether it's the same on your lens or not. |

I was thinking of buying it because its so cheap and got fairly good reviews bit worried about the focusing though. but if i can still auto focus to 5.6 at 300mm like you can at 500mm thats still ok surly? |
