16.4 mp; 24-1200 mm

Just saw some photos from this camera at my camera club tonight and was blown away. Anyone have it? What do you know? (I think I have all the specs right . . . )

Just Don't forget ......"it ain't all about the size of the boat, it's about the motion in the ocean" so to speak.

As long as you have good light and not SUPER fast moving subjects that will be a really amazing camera.

Step into lower light, or where you're trying to chase a really fast mover (think sports) you will struggle with both noise and focus.

Keep the comments and thoughts coming - even if you don't have the camera and have never used it. I'll ask my friend what he thinks. For example, I'll ask now how it does in low light or with a fast subject.
Here's the camera at Adorama (I have a $100 gift certificate there, too, so it looks even more attractive).

Looks like an excellent bargain at that price.

Also, this looks to be a supreme dust-sucker. Expect to send it back for sensor cleaning at about the 11 month mark (so it's under warranty!)

Have you found reviews on it that you're reading, Cory? Can you send the link(s)?
I found a review (c/net) that commented on the low light/noise but actually said it was wonderful in terms of being sealed and I would think that would play into the "dust sucker" business.

Not in the least, totally just relating experience with mechanically similar systems. There are certain facts you can't get around, like a small sensor, coupled with a moderately slow lens, contrast detection AF, and a long extending lens. That equals less than stellar high ISO performance, difficulty focusing in low light or on fast subject in iffy light (both will be fine in strong light), and a general tendency to suck in a hell of a lot of atmosphere when the lens is extending, so unless you're in a semi-conductor manufacturing plant, it's pretty much guaranteed that dust and other stuff will end up where you don't want it, haven't seen a camera yet that is impervious to this, and a long extending zoom only makes it that much worse.

Again, just relating past experience with similar equipment. Don't take me to say that this isn't an amazing little camera, from all I read it seems like it'll be a really fun camera to use, and when conditions are right, should turn out photos that are WAY beyond what you would expect for the price.
