I have been watching this live over the last few hours and how scary this is close to home..

One of my aussie friends has someone he knows that is in that hostage situation..

World is becoming more scarier as time and the world goes on... Gunshots could be heard in the building as I was watching it.

Thoughts and prayers with those that have to deal with this situation and those from Isis in other countries..

I was pretty disheartened when on my front page of my site nothing was said about this hostage situation, but the fact of the news was all about...Companies Putting Big Cable Out Of Business..

I think this situation outweighs any news that is going on right now...

I hope your friend comes out of this okay; it's unfortunate for the loved ones of those two that were confirmed dead...such a senseless thing. :(

i kind of wish this stuff didn't get this kind of exposure, maybe the asshats who act in this regard may tone it down if there is not a media circus surrounding it.

Pretty detailed non-sensational report on the NPR program Here & Now ...

Wow, after what we went through with a gunman shooting a ceremonial colour guard before rampaging through the Centre Block of our Parliament buildings just in October, I can well imagine what's going through Australians' minds at the moment. My heart goes out to all. And yes, of course VERY glad it's over.

The gunman has a long history of run-ins with the police, he was WELL known to them. If only we weren't so lenient - he would have been dealt with in the past, he would have been behind bars, not free to keep re-offending.
