No one even suggested the current one.

Someone suggested it at some time.

And personally, I think it is actually a bad idea to post challenges which have been recently suggested and discussed, as that gives a possibly unfair advantage to those who have been reading the thread and already thinking about the topic. Obviously, this doesn't work for some time-related (e.g. holiday) challenges, but people could also be making their suggestions farther ahead ...

As per the sage advice of GeneralE, I'm making my holiday-related challenge request well in advance, for Canada Day, 2015.

Celebrate Canada and all things Canadian (like saying "eh" and "aboot" - even though we don't actually say aboot), or shoot some festive fireworks, red & white (but not red/white/blue as that's not Canada) themed items.
Since this doesn't happen until July 1st, people have PLENTY of time to plan for this.

I have the canadian accent (well, I grew up in Minnesota, but people kept asking me if I was Canadian. :)

I'm not quite sure how to take a picture of my accent, but I could find something red and white. :)

As it happens, July 1st will be a Wednesday, so the Open challenge on Tuesday June 30th could easily be Canada Day themed, while Friday July 3rd can be used to kickoff the Fourth of July Fireworks Challenge to members. Win/Win/Win! :)

I can find Canadian icons like Beavers and Maple Leaves. Some of my migrating birds head for Canada in the Spring. Best known are probably Canada Geese. (not Canadian Geese) Occasionally, Canadian Lynx and Wolverines are spotted in Colorado. It could work as a challenge...
