This one seems a little over exposed as the colours don't appear saturated enough.

i have a sony LCD and they seem a tad dark but it looks like the darks/blacks are too dark - maybe curves or levels on photoshop can fix that. |

Hi again,
The tulip shot was slightly overexposed to start with.. added contrast and reduced brightness a tad bit (about 5%). Saturation was increased by 20%.. a bit much for some people's taste. It looks great on my "somewhat" calibrated flatpanel btw.
I'm now looking at the tulip shot on my CRT monitor in the office and it looks just fine as well.
Hmmm... anyway, hope we can all learn from this thread. cpanaioti says it looks overexposed and needs more saturation. |

Over exposed and over saturated on my monitor.
EDIT: I may be biased though I generally prefer less saturated more natural looking images.

I'm worried with this shot... i don't see as much detail on my CRT as i do on my flatpanel.

I guess we all have differently calibrated monitors.. We're talking about the same picture.
Thanks hsteg.. like i mentioned earlier, my shots look much better on an LCD display :) |

Jose, when you print or have prints made of these pictures do they look equal or better than what you see on your display? |

I don't think you could really print this on most printers and have it look like it does on screen. Most of the reds are out of gamut with the printing space. |

ya ya ya ya, everyone get an LCD! they make my shots, and Jovis shots look better too. When we win, I call blue, you can pick between red and yellow. That is when everyone gets their cool new LCD monitors.

Hi.. that shot looks fine on this CRT. Anyway, the point of me bringing this thread up so often is just to find some balance between what my shots would look on other people's monitors. Been getting comments that my shots look too dark. |

I print my shots at a photo lab. They always come out great.
Edit: The printed shots look are close to what i see on my monitor. The colors aren't as saturated though. But the contrast and brightness are similar.

Sony 19" SDM-N80
Brightness 60%
Contrast 95% |
Whoa! They look great! My monitor is properly callibrated, and it's a very good (and expensive) monitor. Nice work! I don't think they look too dark at all.
