I'm beginning to wonder if it was McNally, or if it was something I read nowâ€Â¦ but I thought it was McNallyâ€Â¦

I have a bunch of this with which to play. What I don't have is a model until wednesday. Thanksgiving is going to get in the way of photographyâ€Â¦ :)

I have several Pocketwizards that I use. Great reliable system. Just an FYI I also have the AB 22" beauty dish and love it. I'll upload some photos I used it for in a bit.

My beauty dish is the first thing I reach for on every shoot. It very rarely is not perfect for the job. Regardless of who the subject is.

another question for Matt -- Do the pocket wizards allow you to control the lighting levels on the alien bees? It sounded like my Yongnous could with the right cable, but even though I see it on the camera, when I dial in the power levels, the alienbees don't respond.

I do know I want a system where I can control the lights from one spot and not have to change them all manually. Can the pocket wizards do that or do I need to get the cyber commanders from Paul Buff? (I know that's their purpose, but since I've found the wrong info regarding the yongnuos, I'm hesitant to believe what I read regarding different systems working together well.)

Pocket wizards will not(unless they came out with something else I don't know) I've played with a system that controls power from one spot. And honestly I spent way too much time tinkering being a perfectionist, rather than shooting. I prefer to set it, get it, and move on. I don't mind going to each light.

AFAIK the cyber commander is the only way to control AB lights from one spot. Perhaps I'm wrong, if so I hope someone can tell you what else will.

They have that corded light controller that uses 4-wire RJ-11 telephone cords, that would be great for a permanent or semi-permanent indoor setup.

Well, these may be a possibility for you, since you already have the 622C's.

the Einstein has the advantage over the ABs IMO. The Einstein is 640Ws and can be dialed down to that of a hot shoe flash 2.5Ws. No need to worry about to much power or not enough. I struggled with the power thing before I bought. I thought maybe 2 AB 1600 were to much. What about a AB1600 and a 800? Maybe just 2 800's. The Einsteins' fill the gap from almost no power to max. power. 2 640's will cancel out the sun.

what's the normal price for these guys? They're advertising the B1600 unit for $359 each on the website. Is that sound like the standard price, or has it been discounted. i guess what i'm asking is, do i need to bust out my credit card and buy these babies TODAY?

I'm sticking with my Yongnou YN560III flashes at this time. Because I use m43 I effectively get two more stops of light out of the flashes compared to FF.
If you use the YN560TX you can control 6 groups from the camera and manually adjust each without having to drop stands.
Haven't found a reason to upgrade at this time but before I do I think I would double up the flashes first as this would increase the power.
Have seen this soft box which I would put 3 flashes in (remember that you can adjust the power from my camera with the YN560TX).

Triple flash adapter

Softbox (also comes in 120cm)
