if you enter you must comment on every entry, at least a sentence or else you will be dq'd.

A monumental waste of time and effort.
We tried this before (for whatever reason) and ended up with a plethora of cut and paste platitudes.

I don't know about you, but I have lived a previous attempt at this and it was not pretty.

These aren't the kind of comments I want -- comments from people working tirelessly to express themselves to avoid a DQ. If my image didn't move you to words (positive or negative) then let's save us both some time and trouble. |

we need force people to appreciate the work of others. they need to be taught how to appreciate the time other spend on photography and comment accordingly. its selfish that they just look at the work and dont offer any feedback in the form of praise.

I see you've done some good commenting with the Critique Club, but your last comment on anything - an entry in voting or otherwise - was in August. Perhaps you can start by commenting on shots in a current challenge. If I vote a challenge, I "challenge" myself to comment on at least 20% of those entries, generally making myself comment on the first 20% I come to in voting. That way I don't pick and choose my favorites. (I do, however, continue to comment on those that move me to do so after I've done the first 20%.)
It's a very good exercise, and a bit better than forcing others to do something with which they may not be comfortable. |
