Capture the worst photo you can. Lowest score gets the blue ribbon, so on and so forth.

Minimal editing.

All photos of the inside of lens caps will be given a 10.

Indeed. Because any photograph that doesn't go through the Photoshop grinder is categorically bad.

I've been putting my terrible photos through the blending-mode 'grinder' to achieve a look I enjoy lately, but I could do without.

I've seen some really bad ones come out of the grinder, too

Trolls will be handing out 10's like it's candy on Halloween. LOL

... and we'll be marking as helpful the comments like "Man, your photo really sucks!" :-)

Reminds me a little of the DNMC challenge from a few years back. Could be fun.

So you're admitting that you like the Grindr?

I'll have a real spicey Indian meal the evening before the photo shoot.

I think it shouldn't be minimal editing.

I think it should be: don't edit it.

And the date range should be the last ten years.

So don't go out looking for bad photos. Look through your archives and find your embarrassments. I delete most of mine. But there are still "oh my -- that's truly awful" ones left in there. :)

It goes against the grain to purposely take awful shots. But it is funny finding the awful ones you've taken. :)

Instead of making one, why couldnt we use our current photos that were already have been submitted in the challenge and just submit our worst one???
But the bad thing is I have deleted all my worst originals... so I would be out anyway LOL

Save all the confusion from everyone and not having to re-create something terrible, lord knows the way my votes have ended up and in last place, I am sure to have plenty to choose from..
LOL!

I am out for a while taking a break on things .. my eagles are back in town and there is a group of 40 of them, so I am spending my time in the frigded cold watching and photographing them...

Catch ya all on the flip side!

Awwww!! You're too far away!! I would come and visit you and go take pictures of eagles! I'm not afraid of freezing for feathersâ€Â¦.

LOL this is my FAVORITE time of the year just because of it.. usually our eagles are up on the northern Mississippi and usually are not started to be seen until it gets below 0... it must be bad because we are already getting flocks near our dams.. Would love to have you come with me! It is amazing sight!!! It is one of the most neatest things to see especially with them being in such big bands like that..

The bad thing it really makes me angry is that that some idots bait the eagles and they claim to be professional photpgraphers. Any idot that baits is not a professional in my eyes.... But thats another can of worms by itself .. I have sat and waited for hours just for a certain photo capture.. after many misses I get one and sitting for days on end LOL

Anyone is more than welcome I will be sure to show you all the "hot spots"

It is one of the very few interesting and exciting things that happen in Iowa LOL

This is a great idea for a side challenge. It's inappropriate for a regular challenge at DPC. One of the best benefits of DPC is to cause us to get out and photographâ€Â¦ and learn new skills and expand our range. It's counter productive to instead search through archives, much less productive to search for terrible photographs. Sorry, but I strongly oppose this challenge suggestion.

LOL! We can barely agree on what is a good photograph. I don't see how we'd determnie what constitutes"bad". Look at the bottom 5% of any challenge to find what most consider "bad". Personally, I would not like to have to look at an entire challenge of those...

I'm with Richard on this. As a side challenge this would be an interesting exercise. Otherwise, what's the point.

And I a SO having deja vu about this entire conversation. Triple deja vu, in fact...

I was thinking the challenge would be to create a photo with the theme of 'terrible', the hard part being to make it have a lot of impact - a "so bad it's good" sort of a thing.

Not to submit an accidental shot and certainly not to scour the archives for the worst photos that were taken in the past.

The lowest-score-wins thing is just a twist, something I'm not sure would even be possible with the scoring/ribbon calculator coding.

And wouldn't it be funny to have a "Custom Made Lens Cap" lens in this category, filled with nothing but 10's?
