Apple has released the 27" iMac with a retina display, 14.7 megapixel resolution. Standard AMD R9 M290X GPU.

Anybody got $2499 burning a hole in their pocket? |

That is an outrageous resolution, LOL! It will be interesting to see how the whole performance "picture" shapes up for the display, e.g. what do to the color gamut, color accuracy, etc. look like. Knowing Apple's history, I suspect they will be at least good, if not very good.

For Wintel folks, Dell had announced a 5k display last month. My guess is both have LG panels. 8k test models have also been shown at shows. |

Now I am wondering what if we edit an image in this awesome detail and then when upload to DPC, it shows wacky then what? ;) |

I think the 800px images would look like thumbnails unless you turn on the scaling like the retina display MBP's have, then it will just look like utter crap compared to a full res photo. |
