Thank you to everyone who commented on my entry for the opposites, it was the last person who commented who got why I left James as a blur :)

It really is a lovely photo - and for it to be of loved ones makes it moreso. I hope you treasure it! (was it on Mother's day?)

Obviously some others got it - you got 17 8s, 3 9s and 2 10s!

You're right, I should rephrase that. Thanks for your comments.

He visits grandma in the nursing home almost every day, it's getting harder though because the home is across town and with the price of gas.......

Score doesn't necessarily indicate if somebody "got it" or not.

I liked the young and old contrast. That worked well.

The picture is lovely, and I can see some charm in having the little guy in motion. But while I see motion blur, I see the effect of low DOF more. Given a full DOF and motion blur, I would agree, the effect would have contributed more.
