Is there anyone here o likes to be photographer and model at the same time? I like to pose but unfortunatly not many people here in my area likes taking photography or are not so good on using manual photography! can anyone give some tips on how to photograph and model at the same time? Keep on clinking those cameras! :)

I am FORCED into this all the time. Trying to get something partciular, only got meself to model it. 2 year olds are hard to get to stand still for portraits, by the way.
Run a self portrait search in the forums, and should come up with something. Been talk of it efore.

I'm assuming you want to start simple and cheap. I'm new to this as well but this is what I did.

Go to your local fabric store and rumage through the remnents section for back drops. I found a huge piece of black velvet that I dropped 8 bucks on. They will have all kinds of colors and themes. I go a white linen, a burgundy and a silver for + the black velvet for under 20 bucks. They have all kinds of cool patterns there as well. I just duck tape these walls, chairs or table or where ever I want the effect.

For lighting I went to Big lots and found a couple of halogens for $9.99 (think they are three hundred watts each).

As far as taking the picture, use a tripod, set the camera self timer to 10 secs, Hold up an object about where you will be sitting/Standing to focus, hit the release an pose yourself.

That is how I used to do it, my new camera has a remote w/focus and all that stuff.

Oops forgot, for reflectors I got a couple (came in a pair) of really cool sun shades for my car. They are made of cloth and fold down into a small circular size when not in use. The silver side works really well for bouncing light around the room. Think they cost me 15 or 20 bucks.
