Hi DPC,
I am back in Oshkosh, Wisconsin attending the annual aviation event called, AirVenture. Are there any other DPCers here?
This is a photographers dream location to capture amazing images. You can get up close to thousands of airplanes from historic models to the latest go-fast jets. The rock band "Chicago" will kick off the fun this evening and one of my favourites, "Gary Sinise and the Lt.Dan Band" salute veterans later in the week. Jetman is here to make his North American debut. Disney will debut its new animated feature film, "Planes", which is a spin off of their popular "Cars" features. They will have two night-time airshows. How? With pyrotechnics lighting up the night sky off the wing tips of the aerobatic performers. There will even be a flying car demonstration. Is the future finally here where you can back out of the garage and then fly off to work? Plus many other exciting things to see. AirVenture is a must do for any photographer who loves aviation.

| I'm still waffling on whether to come up. I'm only 45 minutes away, but things are a bit hectic at the moment. If I did come up, it would probably be Friday. |

I have decided to depart on Friday morning as I have already been here for a week. Most of my flying friends are leaving on Wednesday and Thursday depending on the weather and IFR slots available. So, have a great time if you do come up. I saw the flying car and Jetman yesterday, amazing. Tomorrow night is the nighttime airshow, so that will be a great photo opp.

| How about Airventure 2014 - anybody going? I hope to be going at a minimum for Thursday/Friday. I love the event and am especially excited about the Thunderbirds. Looks like weather is a bit uncertain, and we are camping so amount of storms that end up predicted might jumble up our plans. |

| I'm strongly considering going... if I do go, it will most likely be either Friday or Saturday, with Friday being the more likely day. |

Ah, Oshkosh/EAA. I love going there, but it's not in my neighborhood. My brother lives nearby, yet last year my visit had to be in October. This year, he comes out west.
Maybe next year... |

aaaaa Oshkosh had the best air show ever.. when I was doing the Civil Air Patrol as a senior member, we always had a chance to do that and work it.. it was awesome!!!!
I will be watching the Quad City Air show though LOL! |
