A flash is like a car stereo if the car automatically reset itself to maximum volume every time you turned off the ignition. Learn to turn it down. 90 % of the time I use my flash I have it set on 1/8th power or less; it is usually enough light, and it speeds up recycle time and lets you coast on batteries much further. And buying a good set of rechargable batteries is a good idea. |

I think you need to upload them to some other "storage" site (DropBox, etc.), and then post a link to that, or people can PM you an email address and you can send it through a file transfer service like Hightail (nee YouSendIt.com). |

fair comment. If you use FI Flash correctly, I mean that it is not obvious esp with backlighting it is better than a reflector, I have seen reflectors over lighting the shadows many times, but I guess its each to his own. syncro flash does take a bit of calculation |
I am not sure what an FI flash is this lighting stuff is very, very new to me by a few weeks.... I brought a Yongnuo 560II flash and had it for about a week, and just received the trigger releases a few days ago..all I know so far is that my flash takes up A LOT of batteries quick already exchanged a set out LOL.. |

with he batteries on the Yong nuos, don't leave them in or turn one around when you are done, otherwise they will drain when the flash is powered off.. |

My initial thought was the color seems off. In most cases young people don't have cyan hair or a blue tint to their skin. Curving for color correction seemed to be the initial step; steeper curves also increase contrast in their faces. Curve layer in color mode, then changed opacity to 50%. Had a look with Shadow/Highlight command and liked it. S/H underlying masking does have a USM component that often gives pleasing results. In CMYK, dodged cyan and yellow areas on the upper girl's forehead and below eyes and cheeks to lighten it up. Sharpened black channel (a lot).
Unhappily, I oversharpened the web version, but there it is...
I'm sure more time spent would result in more improvement. I spent about 10 to 15 minutes. Your mileage may vary; I'm an amateur. |
