First you learn the rules â€Â¦ then you learn to break them.
How can you possibly learn without putting your stuff out there â€Â¦ gold and lead â€Â¦ blue and brown. All have lessons to learn.

Well - you all motivated me to do two things tonight. First, I did some cleaning and reshot yesterday's dreadful session. (I won't say it's loads better, but somewhat. Maybe.) But I'm totally submitting! I also finally nailed down how to open raw files using Adobe DNG converter. That's a biggie. First time I've ever been able to open a raw file - WAHOO!
That's the one secret to winning someday right?
On to more learning...

I have to open my RAWs through lightroom - my issue is learning to process them because you can do so much more the photos now than jpg.
Yeahh for you!!! Can't wait to see what you post.. I messed up on my photo because I forgot to turn on the VR on my camera lens so it made my shot much more blurrryyyy than normal.. I am still submitting it though because I can not drive 2hrs back to my friend to retake it ..
We should have our own team of the misfits LOL

Late to the game -- but if I shoot for a challenge, I enter what I have, even if it's lousy.
I figure, if I bothered trying, why not submit and see what happens. I may learn something, I may get a useful comment, I may be pleasantly surprised, or it could just suck as badly as I think it does.
But if you bothered shooting, why not enter and see what happens? It's the experience that's important, and from which you learn, not the score. The score is just the icing on the cake. Sometimes your icing turns out running and gross, but who cares? |
