I like self portrait challenges. And no need for expert for what I can naturally unedited achieve ;-)

I have no IDEA why this has to be expert though!!

Because only EXPERT can turn this into this or this

OR because it says so right there.

And remember - Expert editing is not required. If you want to produce a Beauty-full image using Basic or Minimal, you are free to do so. :)

OOHHH And I thought it was expert because that is what all the beauty magazines use! LOL!

Truth is that the last one had few women in it (total of 3 in the top 30). Most was nature's beauty. Using Expert, you could create fantasy beauty in either. Nothing wrong with that.

Neat has no use of expert to become a beauty.

Ha! Looks like I am going for brown this time! (think that means to be the last place?) I have a fun entry but people are ruthless - no mercy. 3.8 with 5 votes :(

This should have been the one with the special rule.

Submissions that are ugly, homely, or otherwise not beautiful will be disqualified.

I see very few expert editing submissions. I like that.

so maybe an expert free study wouldn't be the end of the world...

Mine is most decidedly "expert" due to some of the editing the image required, but it is a perfectly "natural" image.

Just because you CAN go crazy with the editing, doesn't mean you HAVE to. Simple things you can do in "expert" which are not allowed in "advanced", such as: replacing a tiny section of the otherwise perfect base image, with a piece from a shot where that section is better; adding clouds to a featureless sky; reconstructing a spot that was obliterated by a flare, evening out a hem, removing a prominent logo, etc.

We did have at least one expert FS - way back when when expert editing was new and exciting.

You can start with mine. Was in a bit of hurry yesterday and I didn't check my entry. Found out this morning it was the wrong edited version, really stupid. Can't complain about the votes I received though, should be much lower IMO.

I think that's what I was trying to say. Sometimes I feel like the expert challenges lose all sense of photography, and turn in to Photoshop creation contests.
